Frog Man

For nearly 50 years, I have been the recipient of metal and ceramic frogs from friends and relatives. I’ve never bought one for myself. But over the years, I have accumulated more than 200 frogs. Don’t ask how it started.

While I keep frog gifts from my granddaughters on the shelves of my office (and secretly position a few in our living room and den), most sadly remain in boxes. Even so, the frogs just keep coming. This last Christmas Eve, we celebrated with Lauren and her family. My granddaughters were most eager for me to open my Christmas present. AND put it on. Ever the obliging grandfather, I did (see below). I now wear my frog costume when we visit them – or when I go to Fresh Market to pick up dinner. . . .
